Spanish keyboard: type accents and ñ
Write Spanish text with á, é, í, ó, ú, ü, and ñ. Add inverted question marks and exclamation marks without changing your physical keyboard.
Click a character to insert it at your cursor. Select text first to replace it. Switching languages keeps your text.
How to use this Spanish keyboard
Write or paste text in the editor. Click a character to insert it at your cursor, or select text first to replace it. Copy text copies the whole editor. Clear removes it; Undo can restore the last change.
Example to try
Mañana tomaré un café. ¿Y tú?
Type ñ and Ñ
Use the ñ button for words such as mañana, niño, and español. Turn on Uppercase to insert Ñ. The button inserts a complete character, so you do not need to add a separate tilde.
Spanish vowels and punctuation
The keyboard includes all five acute-accented vowels plus ü. Use ¿ and ¡ for opening punctuation. Select an existing letter in your text before clicking its accented replacement.
Write a sentence, not just one letter
For example, type Manana, select its first n, and click ñ to make Mañana. Continue typing in the same editor. Accent buttons replace the selected text or insert at the cursor.
Other ways to enter these characters
On a Mac
In supported Mac apps, hold a letter key and choose its accented form. Availability varies by app.
In Microsoft Word for Windows
In Word for Windows, press Ctrl + Shift + ~, release, then n to enter ñ. This is a Word shortcut, not a universal Windows shortcut.
Official instructions: Apple’s accent-entry guide and Microsoft’s Word accent shortcuts.
Before you leave
The editor does not translate, proofread, or save your writing between visits. Copy text you want to keep before refreshing. If copying is blocked, select the text and use your device’s Copy command.
